Believers, we are living in what is referred to in Scripture as “perilous times.” We are definitely living in the last days and 2 Timothy 3:11 describes this time:

BUT UNDERSTAND this, that in the last days will come (set in) perilous times of great stress and trouble [hard to deal with and hard to bear]. AMP

Are you under stress? Have these times been hard to bear? I’ve been there-bet you have, too! But, we must remember this important fact-we have the currency of heaven available to us! And that currency is FAITH! It’s important from time to time to re-read Hebrews 11 and study the heroes of faith. So much was established in God’s kingdom because of faith.

Hebrews 11:1-2 explains clearly the faith that is necessary for breakthrough:

1. NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].
2. For by [faith — trust and holy fervor born of faith] the men of old had divine testimony borne to them and obtained a good report. (AMP)

The same faith that was required for Abraham, Moses, Noah, Gideon, Elijah and other great men and women of God is required for each of us today. To be a “Kingdom demonstrator,” we must use our currency of heaven! Doubt and unbelief will cause us to be continually short-changed.

Lack of confidence will open doors to the enemy and then he can easily derail us. We have an enemy and he is relentless in attempting to get us off track and, therefore, lose focus.

Faith is necessary to maintain and is the necessary ingredient for times such as this. Each day that we walk with God our faith will grow, but I believe that we often must choose to have faith. Think about this for a minute…2 Peter 1:3 says, “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.” (NIV)

This is saying that we have everything we need in our Christian walk. If we choose to believe this Scripture, then we also choose to believe we have every tool needed- and that includes faith.

Believer, though these are perilous times we are reminded that we each have been given all power over the enemy! Luke 10:19 says, “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.” (NIV)

It’s time to use your faith and crush that devil underfoot! Use heaven’s currency- it’s time for breakthrough!
